4. Crossbites And Narrow Smiles

  • Crossbites are when the upper and lower teeth do not align properly

  • These issues can lead to uneven wear on the teeth, jaw discomfort and difficulty chewing

  • A narrow palate or upper jaw can cause crooked teeth and a narrow smile

CROSSBITES AND NARROW SMILES have generally established themselves by the adolescent years and can still be easily corrected with the use of a modified type of expander called a HYBRID EXPANDER and FIXED BRACES.

6. Underbites

  • Teenagers have all of their adult teeth

  • Teenager’s jaws have not fully formed and their position can gently be adjusted with the use of a hybrid appliance

  • We use 3D technology ‘easy driver’ system to carefully plan our treatments

The correction of UNDERBITES is most often centred around accelerating growth in the upper jaw. In adolescents this can often be achieved using a HYBRID EXPANDER and FIXED BRACES (TRAINTRACKS) with or without a REVERSE NIGHT BRACE

7. Anterior Openbites

  • An open bite is when there is a gap between the upper and lower front teeth, especially when the jaws are closed

  • This can cause trouble with biting and chewing properly

  • We use the latest technology to comfortably scan the patients teeth with of 3D scanning pen we then print the patients models of our 3D printer

Anterior open bites are often best treated with a combination of a HYBRID EXPANDERFIXED BRACES (TRAINTRACKS) – and may also require the additional use of a HYBRID ‘MOUSE TRAP’ APPLIANCE.

8. Overcrowding Treated Without Extractions

  • With our latest technology we can offer a wide aesthetic smile that you get to keep for life!

  • We complete all treatment planning, x-rays and scans in-house to offer the most reliable and convenient treatment experience

  • Extractions are not always necessary a detailed consultation with Dr Kieran Daly, with all your x-rays and assessments will determine

Mild to moderate amounts of overcrowding can sometimes be treated without the need for orthodontic extractions with fixed braces (TRAINTRACKS)

9. Overcrowding Treated With Extractions

  • In some cases the anatomy of the jaw is too small to facilitate all the teeth, this leaves insufficient space to align the teeth properly

  • This can facilitate bringing the upper and lower teeth into a more harmonious alignment

  • We use modern technology and x-rays to help us asses these issues and be sure extractions are the best course of action

Moderate to severe overcrowding often necessitates ORTHODONTIC EXTRACTIONS and FIXED BRACES (TRAINTRACKS)  to allow for optimum tooth alignment as well as to facilitate long-term dental health and function.
